MAP BASIC Income Policy
- This policy has different requirements than MAP
- Sponsor’s income is not counted
- Proof requirements are different
- Household must be at or below 200% of the FPL
- Missing Paycheck Stubs
Client must have at least one paycheck stub dated within the last 4 weeks for MAP BASIC. Example client brings in one paycheck stub from HEB but does not have the other three paystubs received during the last 4 weeks. - Client has two options:
- Return with missing paycheck stubs
- Calculate the missing income using the rate of pay x 40 hours.
- New Income-Earned income that started less than 4 weeks prior to interview (MAP and MAP BASIC)
- Received
- Use the income from the paycheck stubs received
- Calculate the future income using the rate of pay multiplied by the number of hours clients states they will work
- Not Received
- Calculate income using the rate of pay multiplied by the number of hours the client states they will work.

- Issuing MAP BASIC Retro coverage for a clinic visit:
- Effective 7/22/2019 income for 30 days prior to date of service is no longer required
- 4/1/2019-7/21-2019 income for 30 days prior to effective date of coverage
